KIT3 is a partnership of Melbourne-based filmmakers,

Stephen Di Gravio and Xavier Brydges.

With a friendship born out of a broken 50mm lens and years of being mistaken for one another at film school, the two filmmakers decided to morph into a single gelatinous blob and  continue pursuing their passion for storytelling under the umbrella of KIT3.

Stephen Di Gravio is a Naarm/Melbourne-based writer, director, and producer. He is known for character-driven, working-class stories that blend melancholy and comedy (melan-comic) with sincerity and heart. Raised by his Nonno & Nonna in the suburbs of Newcastle, Stephen’s passion lies in exploring empathy and understanding through storytelling, often through a multicultural lens.

A co-founder at KIT3, Stephen has produced work with support from the City of Melbourne and the Victorian Multicultural Commission, with projects such as his short documentary Good Gnocchi which paid homage to his family and premiered at the inaugural Sony Film Festival. His postgraduate short, Anna, was selected for the 2023 Cannes Short Film Corner and garnered a 2023 Australian Directors Guild Award nomination. His work has been recognised by notable festivals including the St Kilda Film Festival, SXSW Sydney, and Flickers' Rhode Island International Film Festival.

Currently working at the Tropics as a freelance editor and production coordinator, Stephen has works with a range of clients including The Big Issue, Thermoskin, Volvo, Brimbank City Council, and Hi-Chew while he continues developing both short and long form creative projects.
